How to use this tool

  1. Enter a domain name only, without a URL path or private information.
  2. Choose the DNS record type and start the lookup.
  3. Read returned records, response status and TTL values.
  4. Compare with your DNS provider’s configuration before changing anything.

Read the result correctly

Results describe the response of the Cloudflare public resolver used by our server. An empty answer with a successful DNS status can mean no records of the selected type, not a website outage. NXDOMAIN means that resolver reports the name does not exist. TTL is a caching lifetime supplied in the response and is not a promise that every resolver has updated. CNAME records can appear alongside another requested type. Returned text is displayed as text and never executed or opened automatically.

Limits and troubleshooting

This is not a global DNS propagation check or a measurement of the DNS server used by your own device. The requested name is sent to GearCheck Lab and Cloudflare after you start; avoid entering confidential internal hostnames. The server queries only a fixed resolver endpoint, validates public domain syntax, limits requests and uses timeouts. It does not fetch the entered website or accept arbitrary resolver URLs. Errors remain distinct from empty successful answers.

Privacy and control

Device previews, recordings, selected files and report notes stay in your browser. Downloaded files remain on your device. Network tests send generated probes to GearCheck Lab. DNS lookup sends your requested public domain name and type to our server and the Cloudflare public resolver only after you start a query. Local recordings, drawings, files, device names and battery logs are not uploaded. Ordinary page requests and usage measurement are described in our privacy policy.
