How to use this tool

  1. Check support, then choose Select device to open the browser picker.
  2. Select a compatible BLE device you own and wish to inspect.
  3. Optionally connect to read the standard battery service if available.
  4. Disconnect when finished; no device settings are changed.

Read the result correctly

The device name and connection state are values made available to this browser after permission. Optional battery level comes from the standard BLE Battery Service if the device exposes it and grants access. It is distinct from the computer’s own battery status. A failed battery read does not mean the device is broken: many devices omit that service or restrict it. The page requests no proprietary services, sends no configuration commands and writes no characteristics.

Limits and troubleshooting

Web Bluetooth has limited browser and operating-system support. This tool does not scan every nearby Bluetooth device, inspect classic Bluetooth audio quality or show signal strength. Permission may be blocked by browser policy. Device selection is user-started, and late permission responses are discarded after stopping. Stop, hiding the page and leaving disconnect an active GATT connection. Device names and readings remain local.

Privacy and control

Device previews, recordings, selected files and report notes stay in your browser. Downloaded files remain on your device. Network tests send generated probes to GearCheck Lab. DNS lookup sends your requested public domain name and type to our server and the Cloudflare public resolver only after you start a query. Local recordings, drawings, files, device names and battery logs are not uploaded. Ordinary page requests and usage measurement are described in our privacy policy.
