How to use this tool

  1. Choose requested processing On or Off before starting.
  2. Record the same phrase from the same distance for ten seconds.
  3. Listen to the saved local clip and read the actual track settings.
  4. Change the request and repeat; delete the clips when done.

Read the result correctly

Noise suppression, echo cancellation and automatic gain can improve calls but may change music or quiet sounds. The browser can ignore unsupported preferences, so actual track settings accompany each clip. Playback is user-controlled and muted monitoring prevents a live feedback loop. An A/B comparison is useful only when the same device, distance, phrase and room are used. Both clips remain in this page until removed or you leave; a downloaded copy stays on your device.

Limits and troubleshooting

This comparison cannot isolate every driver or hardware processing stage. Unreported settings are unknown, not disabled. It is not a scientific microphone frequency-response test. A supported MediaRecorder format is required. Stop ends a sample, and changing tabs discards unfinished recording and releases microphone access. Clips are never uploaded.

Privacy and control

Device previews, recordings, selected files and report notes stay in your browser. Downloaded files remain on your device. The call check sends small HTTP probes to GearCheck Lab. The WebRTC test exchanges temporary connection descriptions through our server and contacts the disclosed STUN service only after you create or join a session. Ordinary page requests and usage measurement are described in our privacy policy.
