Display steady gray or a static stripe pattern while you inspect your screen under consistent conditions. This observation aid does not flash automatically or claim to measure a panel’s physical flicker frequency.
Screen Flicker Observation Patterns workbench

READY — choose an action below
No automated flashing. No physical flicker frequency or PWM value is measured.
How to use this tool
Choose a steady gray level or the static stripe pattern.
Keep the room lighting and viewing distance consistent.
If comparing device brightness settings, change one setting manually at a time.
Record your observations and compare another display or manufacturer guidance if the symptom persists.
Read the result correctly
The page shows a static browser-rendered pattern. A changing appearance can involve panel behavior, brightness control, room lighting, scaling or visual interaction with fine stripes. A camera aimed at the display can introduce rolling-shutter bands of its own, so such bands are not a calibrated frequency reading. The tool intentionally provides no PWM number, flicker-free certification or automatic hardware verdict.
Limits and troubleshooting
Fine stripe patterns may look different under browser zoom and display scaling; that does not by itself establish a physical flicker defect. The page cannot sample the light emitted by the panel or measure temporal modulation. Use specialist measurement equipment when an actual flicker frequency or modulation depth is required. Fullscreen is optional and the pattern remains steady until you change a control. Stop viewing a pattern if it feels uncomfortable.
Frequently asked question
Can this measure PWM or certify flicker-free output?
No. A web page cannot measure emitted screen light without an appropriate external sensor. This tool is a steady observation aid rather than a flicker meter.
