How to use this tool
Start the check and decide whether to allow camera and microphone access.
Speak normally and confirm the camera preview is correct.
Wait for five small HTTP probes to complete.
Stop the check and choose the same devices in your meeting application.
Read the result correctly
The preview confirms that this page received a camera stream. The microphone meter shows relative digital signal activity, not acoustic loudness. HTTP median delay describes requests to GearCheck Lab, not the servers of Teams, Zoom or another call provider. A camera with no visible image may have a physical privacy shutter or an exposure problem even though access succeeded. Check lighting and framing yourself. A quiet microphone sample is a prompt to speak or check the selected input, not an automatic hardware failure.
Limits and troubleshooting
This does not simulate a full video call or guarantee meeting quality. Other apps may select different devices, codecs and processing settings. The network test sends five small requests only. Stop and hiding the page release device tracks and cancel probes. No audio or video is uploaded or recorded.
Privacy and control
Device previews, recordings, selected files and report notes stay in your browser. Downloaded files remain on your device. The call check sends small HTTP probes to GearCheck Lab. The WebRTC test exchanges temporary connection descriptions through our server and contacts the disclosed STUN service only after you create or join a session. Ordinary page requests and usage measurement are described in our privacy policy.
